Wordless Wednesday Leelee the Contented Dachshund's New Toy

Wordless Wednesday Leelee the Contented Dachshund's New Toy

Leelee, the Contented Dachshund, was being a little rascal on Christmas morning.  She swiped my son's M &M container from under the Christmas tree.  She must have thought that it was meant for her because she commandeered it.  Somehow she managed to get it up on the couch and chewed on it until she fell asleep.

It's mine you can not have it!

Video of Leelee the Contented Dachshund playing with her new toy.

She did not get the container opened and ended up getting tired of it after awhile.

Merry Christmas From Leelee the Contented Dachsund

Merry Christmas From Leelee the Contented Dachsund

Everyone around here has been so busy,  doing all types of things.  Mommy put up a tree in the house.  It strange she put lights and other things on it.  She has done this before, around this same time of year.  I like this lighted tree because it has a very soft blanket around it.  I love to fall asleep on this blanket.  One night she puts all these boxes and other thing wrapped in the pretty paper around the tree.  They are for my boy.  But, I like to hide behind them and sleep on that soft blanket.

I love when my boy opens all these boxes.  He makes the paper into balls and throws it so I can chase it.  We have fun playing like this until my family goes out for the rest of the day.  I don't know where they go, but they bring be back goodies to eat.  I sleep most of the time they are gone.

All of the humans, for weeks going around telling each other Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and have a great New Year.  When mommy takes her for a walk, we stop and talk to everyone we see.  I like it; all the humans are so happy because of this Christmas thing.  I like to see them happy.

To all you humans out there Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and if I don't see you have a great New Year, from Leelee the Contented Dachshund.

Wordless Wednesday: Looking at Christmas Lights with Leelee the Contented Dachshund

Leelee, the contented dachshund, loves this of the year.  She likes to walk around the neighborhood and look at all the Christmas lights.

Leelee like to look at the Christmas lights, but she doesn't like the cold.  We never talk around for too long.

Leelee, the contented dachshund, loves going for a walk, but she is happiest when they are over,  and she is all wrapped up in her blanket.

Wordless Wednesday Laying Around with Leelee

Wordless Wednesday Laying Around with Leelee

Leelee, the Contented dachshund, is a hound dog.  Hound dogs love nothing more than just to lay around and relax.  During this time of year, we could learn a lesson from the old hound dogs.

Leelee all comfy on the couch.  She is giving me the lay with me look.

I was busy.  This is the please at least sit with me look.

She fell asleep waiting for someone to join her.

I am not paying attention to you.  You didn't do what I wanted, so I am not doing what you want.

Oh alright, if you rub my belly, I will forgive you.

A Walk Through the Leaves With Leelee

A Walk Through the Leaves With Leelee

The air is starting to have a cold chill to it.  But, Leelee, the contented dachshund, does not mind.  A walk through the leaves with Leelee sounds like fun.  In the front of the house, Leelee decides to stop and sniff around the mailbox.  There have been other dogs that have walked near.  There is no sign of them, so she decides to continue her walk.

A Walk Through the Leaves With Leelee On to the Backyard

Leelee, the contented dachshund, has to sniff everything in sight.  Just walking from the front yard to the backyard could take some time.  She is an older girl and enjoys all of the wonderful smells of the outdoors.  There are leaves all over the place.  Leelee seems to enjoy the crunching of the leaves under her paws.

Leelee, the content dachshund, stops to sniff around the oil tank.  There are many wild cats that walk through, and their scent is still there.  There is no sign of any of the animals that usually stop by to say, hi. So Leelee the contented dachshund decided her walk is done and it is time to go back inside.

A Walk Through the Leaves With Leelee is Over

A walk through the leaves with Leelee is over.  Now it is time to rest. Leelee has spent an hour outside sniffing around.  She is an old girl and now it is time to rest. Only on the couch with her favorite blanket will do.  Have a nice rest Leelee the contented dachshund.

Leelee The Contented Dachshund Love From the Past. Throwback Thursday

Leelee The Contented Dachshund Love From the Past. Throwback Thursday

I was looking at my picture file, and I came across a bunch of old pictures I had taking when we first got Leelee, the contented dachshund.  Most of them are of Leelee with my son  Mark.  We got Leelee for Mark and loves her so much.  I do not think there is anything cuter than a boy and his dog.

Leelee is guarding Mark while he takes a nap.

Nothing like love from my new human.
I am so loved.
A hotdog for me yummy.  Mommy is watching.  I can not eat
                it now.

I finally have a family who loves me.

Wordless Wednesday, The Adventures Of Leelee the Contented Dachshund

There is nothing more Leelee the contented dachshund loves than going for a walk.  She loves all the different smells of being outside.

There are many stray cats here.  Leelee the contented dachshund favors this black and white cat.  I do not know, what it is about this cat, but Leelee is alway trying to make friends with him.

Leelee is an older girl and she loves to have a nice rest after spending some time outside.

How Leelee The Contented Dachshund Gets Exercise

Leelee The Contented Dachshund Plays Chase

Being a dog owner and having an older dog, I can’t emphasize enough how important it is for older dogs to get exercise.  Leelee, the Contented dachshund, get her exercise playing chase with everyone the house.  She loves it when someone chases her around the house.  If no one will play she will stomp her front paws until someone chases her.  She even stops every once in a while to make sure the person is still there.  Sometimes she will run into her cage and play hide and seek.

Leelee The Contented Dachshund Loves to Walk

Leelee, the contented dachshund, loves to go for walks.  I will say if it is raining out or the ground is wet forget it, we are lucky to get her to go outside and pee.  But, on nice days Leelee, the contented dachshund loves to be outside.  She loved to walk around and smell everything that she can.

You have to have her on a leash because if she sees or smells another animal, she will want to chase it.  She has in her time chased squirrels up trees.  She got one by the tail once and came in the house with a mouth full of hair.  I think the squirrel was alright because it was just hair in her month.  The squirrel did make it up the tree.

Leelee, the contented dachshund, also managed to get a hold of a baby bunny one time.  Relax she didn’t want to hurt the baby bunny, she wanted to be it’s mother and tried to nurse the baby bunny.  The mother rabbit didn’t like the idea and thumped Leelee in the head a couple of time.  Leelee came out of that with a very sore ear.  That was back when I first got Leelee.  She defiantly got her exercise that day. It was funny seeing a dog run away from a rabbit.

For an older dog Leelee, the contented dachshund can sure run fast.  She gets plenty of exercises and is very healthy.  My vet has told, me, quite a few times, that all thing considered, Leelee the contented dachshund is in great shape.  I hope you enjoyed reading about how Leelee the contented dachshund gets her exercise.  Do come back again and read more about my rescue dog Leelee.

Dog Food Review: Purina Beyond

Purina Beyond dog food Review

I received a free sample of Purina Beyond Natural dog food in the mail.  I also got coupons for $2.00 the canned Purina Beyond dog food.  I have a fifteen-year-old dachshund.  I want to give her the healthiest dog food that I possibly can.

Purina Beyond Natural Dog Food

Purina Beyond is all natural dog food.  Real meat is the #1 ingredient. In my case it is chicken.  My dog Leelee loves anything chicken flavored.  There is no corn wheat or soy in Purina Beyond dog food.  There is also no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives in Purina Beyond dog food. I was defiantly happy when I read the label of Purina Beyond dog food.  Feeding your dog natural dog food helps them not only be healthier but live longer.  When your dog is fifteen years old, that is something you think about when buying food for them.

What Do Dogs Think of Purina Beyond

I actually used the hard Purina Beyond as treats for Leelee.  I gave her the soft canned Purina beyond as food. After getting the free sample and coupons.  I have changed the brand of dog food that I use. Well, you can tell from the photo that Leelee loves her new dog food.   I would highly recommend Purina Beyond dog food.

Wordless Wednesday 9/21/2016 Night Walk

Wordless Wednesday 9/21/2016 Night Walk

New Photo of Leelee the Contented Dachshund Night Walk

I got a leash that has lights in it so people will see Leelee at night.  Not that she goes anywhere near the road.  It not very bright but people can see us.

My yard has a lot of light so I really didn't need the lighted leash but I like to have it just in case.  Leelee's nightly walk is usually just around the yard.  The only time it turns out to be more is if she spotting something moving around.  You would be surprised so see how fast a fifteen-year-old dachshund can run!

Wordless Wednesday 8/17/2016 Leelee the Contented Dachshund is Sleepy

Leelee the contented dachshund does not like to miss out on anything.  She will fall asleep standing up.  It is so cute when she tries to fight sleep so much, she falls asleep standing.

Leelee the contented dachshund's favorite pillow is mom.  She feels safe and usually sleeps the best when she is sleeping on me.  But if she hears any type of noise she jumps right up.

"I know, I heard dad's car that means it's time to eat!"

Leelee, the Contented Dachshund, Turns 15

Leelee, the Content Dachshund, Turns 15

Today is Leelee, the contented dachshund's 15th Birthday.  It's a miracle that she has made it this long.  If my family would not have adopted here almost six years ago, I don't think she would still be alive.  Just four months after she joined my family, a vet told, me to take her home and make her as comfortable as possible.  The vet didn't think she was going to make it.  By some miracle, she pulled through and is still with us.

Here it is five years later and Leelee, the contented dachshund, is turning 15.  Making it to 15 years after going through all that this poor little dachshund has is great.  She is such a sweet little dog, and I am happy to have her as apart of my family.  She has brought so much joy and happiness to my family, just being her silly little dachshund self.

It's like when she came to live with us she got a second life.  She has learned how to play and loves to be around people.  There are times when she acts like a puppy.   If she thinks no one is watching, she will go around the house knocking over all the trash cans.  Most of the time, all the trash cans are empty.  She loves to be chased around the house.

I am so happy to have been able to adopt her.  Happy 15th Birthday to my sweet little angel of a dog, Leelee the contented dachshund.
